Samsung Announces New Batman-Themed Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition
Samsung announcing its new Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition smartphone to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Injustice: Gods Among Us. The special edition is themed around DC’s Batman, and will be presented in limited amounts in certain regions starting next month exclusively in select territories, including Singapore, China, Latin America, Korea, and Russia. Other territories will be announced soon.
The Injustice Edition will include “enhanced hardware and software,” among other things. Samsung has combined with Warner Bros. DC Entertainment and Interactive Entertainment for making the special edition flagship Galaxy phone.
Android users can find the game Injustice: Gods Among Us on the Google Play Store for free. All the better to play it will be this new special edition handset, which features the Batman emblem on the back and an interface given a grungy, Batman-inspired makeover. The edition isn’t all looks, though.
This Batman-inspired edition is a black smartphone with gold edges across the camera and home button. The company name at the front is also written in Gold, while the back sports the Batarang symbol .
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone was introduced in India in March starting at Rs. 56,900. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes to a hybrid dual-SIM slot. It features 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, and Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 8890 SoC. Globally, the Galaxy S7 Edge housed Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset.
It comes in two storage variants – 32GB and 64GB. Additionally, the smartphone has a 4GB of RAM, a 12-megapixel ‘Dual Pixel’ rear camera with a f/1.7 aperture and smart OIS feature, as well as a 5-megapixel front camera with f/1.7 aperture. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has the IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It packs a 3600mAh battery.
Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, IT & Mobile Division at SamsungElectronics had this to say about the partnership:
Certain areas, as the video recommends, will contain a themed Gear VR headset and vouchers for in-game credits and Oculus VR content. The Batman theme is kept with the entire collaborative, including the box. It isn’t yet clear whether the phone will be offered in North America, though Samsung says it will declare additional availability “soon.”
