Untangle is a privately held company based in San Jose, California, which provides network management software. Untangle NG Firewall is used by nearly 40,000 organizations worldwide.

Untangle is a Linux-based network gateway with pluggable modules for network applications such as spam blocking, web filtering, anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-phishing, intrusion prevention, bandwidth control, captive portal, VPN, firewall, and more.

It can create the line which separates internal and external networks, Firewall filters traffic based on IP address, protocol, and port that enables administrators to designate which systems and services (HTTP, FTP, etc.) are publicly available.

A firewall can be run as a transparent bridge to complement pre-existing firewall and also permits you to control inbound and/or outbound access to particulars IPs and ports.

Untangle provides two special pricing packages which include the similar features as NG Firewall Complete.Public Sector Complete that offers discounts for succeeding the state and local government institutions, public schools and libraries. Nonprofit Complete offers discounts to qualifying not-for-profit institutions, NGOs, private schools and religious organizations.
