Samsung Z2 Launched In India With Tizen OS

On Tuesday Samsung launched the Tizen-powered Z2 smartphone in India at Rs. 4,590. The device was rumored to introduce alongside Galaxy Note 7 in the first week of August. The Samsung Z2 smartphone will be presented in Wine Red, Black, and Gold color variants from Monday via Paytm and Samsung’s offline retail stores.

The successor to the Z3, the Z2 will most probably appeal to first-time smartphone users who are looking to get familiar with the category, without, of course, burning a hole in their pockets. If that wasn’t enough, Tizen OS inside the Z2 comes pre-bundled with a variety of smart features (and apps) that do not need someone to be a pro, much like it is in the case of most third-party skins over Android.
The handset running on the company’s own Tizen OS comes bundled with free Reliance Jio sim and 4G data services. Samsung Z2 comes with the company’s own money transfer app My Money Transfer, which Samsung says supports all major banks. Other pre-loaded apps comprise Quickr, Ola, and Facebook.
It also has support for 12 local languages of India.
The South Korean consumer electronics giant claims that the Samsung Z2 has been built from scratch by its R&D team in Bengaluru. The smartphone is the first 4G LTE smartphone from Samsung that runs Tizen OS.
Particularly, Samsung Z2 customers can benefit the Jio Preview Offer, with a SIM that will offer access to Reliance Jio services like Jio On Demand, Jio Beats, and more, free for 90 days with unlimited data, calling, and more.
In terms of specs, the 4-inch smartphone has a 5MP rear camera with LED flash. It supports 1.5GHz processor with 1GB RAM. The 8GB internal storage is can be upgraded to 128GB. The Z2 smartphone is driven by a 1500mAh removable battery, and Samsung declares this can deliver up to 8 hours of 4G browsing.
The Z2 is the third smartphone in the Samsung Z series of Tizen smartphones. The first Tizen smartphone, the Samsung Z1, was introduced in India in January last year. In October, the company then introduced the Samsung Z3.
The 4G LTE-enabled smartphone also offers a dual-SIM option. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and USB OTG.
